Tasty Tuesday: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Energy Balls

Hi friends! Taylor from CleanFoodCleanPlate here to share one of my favorite snacks for breastfeeding moms. I always had these on hand to snack on in my early postpartum days – you can whip them up in just a few minutes, they are full of real, whole foods that are beneficial for breastmilk production, and most importantly, you can grab them and eat them with one hand (which comes in handy when your baby won’t let you put him down!). And did I mention they are delicious?! Chocolate, peanut butter, oats…these are the things dreams are made of. I debated calling them Boob Balls because they are such a great snack for breastfeeding moms (I always bring a batch of these along with dinner when I visit friends with newborns), but I feel like that name is so…limiting. Now that I am near the end of my breastfeeding journey with my last baby, I still make these to enjoy with the whole family. My 3-year-old calls them “cookie balls” and considers them a treat even though I know they are chocked full of nutrients.

Both oatmeal and flaxseed may help increase breastmilk supply. All of the ingredients in these energy balls are loaded with nutrients, fiber, protein, Omega-3 fatty acids – basically ALL THE GOOD STUFF – and will help heal your body, give you energy, and keep you full until your next meal. So measure it out, mix it up, roll it out, and enjoy!
