Where will you process my placenta?
Bosom Buddy only processes your placenta in your home. This ensures that you 100%, without a doubt receive your own placenta. You can see the workspace it is prepared in, the cleanliness of the space, and exactly what is being done to process the placenta. Processing in your home also ensures it is not exposed to unfamiliar bacteria in another workspace.
How does my placenta get from the hospital/birth center to my home?
Bosom Buddy will provide you with a transport kit that is specific to placenta transportation, meets all laws and regulations, and is simple and easy to use.
Do you do placenta encapsulation on home birth placentas?
Yes, of course! We will provide information to you for your CPM to use to properly store your placenta until we arrive to encapsulate.
Can I watch and ask questions?
We welcome questions, pictures, and observation of the placenta encapsulation process if you are interested. We are transparent with our process and would be happy to walk you through exactly what is being done.
What type of encapsulation do you offer?
Bosom Buddy uses a traditional method of encapsulation, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine. This process includes steaming the placenta prior to dehydrating to kill the germs and bacteria. This method helps ensure the placenta is safe for consumption.
I am a vegan. Can I consume my placenta with your capsules?
Bosom Buddy uses vegan friendly vegetable capsules. Our capsules are also Gluten Free, Kosher and Halal certified and free of preservatives.
How long does the process take?
The process takes place over two days. Each session is approximately 2-3 hours.
What kind of training do you have?
Bosom Buddy’s Postpartum Placenta Specialist Ashley Glenn was professionally trained in a hands on training through ProDoula’s Placenta Prep. Safety, proper handling, and respecting the placenta are important and practiced. Ashley has also taken a Blood Born Pathogens class.
What happens to my deposit if my placenta is not released from the hospital or it is taken for testing?
If we cannot process your placenta due to it not being released or it is taken for testing we will refund 100% of your money.
Do you take last minute clients?
Of course! We do our best to accommodate anyone wanting their placenta encapsulated however advance notice is ideal for planning.
