Pregnancy, Holidays and Too Much To Do

Reflecting on 2016, it can be said that at a minimum- we are in a great season of transition and change. Transitions demand a lot of flexibility on our behalf, which can be trying. Flexibility can mean not being in control, not knowing what to expect, not having all the answers- all things that ask us to surrender fully.

A few questions to think about:

How can you enjoy each moment in it's entirety?

How can you enter motherhood in the most present and supported way?

What do you need to let go of in order to step into motherhood fully?

Sometimes it can be very helpful, especially during this cold, winter season, to slow down. Maybe this means saying ‘no’ more to things on our schedules. Maybe this means finding more mindfulness and being more present during the holiday season. Maybe this means when your body is saying ‘rest’- to actually go and ‘rest’ and let that to-do list go.

Today, as you are reading this, I invite you to pause and slow down for this moment. Place a hand on your belly, and a hand on your heart. Inhale fully, allowing your belly to rise and be filled with the prana and energy of life. As you exhale, exhale through your nose, noticing the emptying of your breath, exhaling deeply out all of that which is old, letting go and resting into the chair or surface beneath you a little bit more. Softening your body and breath. Inhale, and find greater ease, a lightness. Exhale, again letting go of what no longer serves you.

As you continue to breathe in and out, ask yourself during these days ahead, how can I surrender and soften into this beautiful transition a little more? What can you gather during these days that will support you the greatest during these seasons of transition? Share your thoughts with us below, we would love to hear from you!
